Why it makes the list

Occupying an elegant Georgian property in Padstow’s Old Town, Padstow Townhouse is a stunning six-suite guesthouse bursting with style and luxury. Padstow has long been a mecca for foodies, and restaurant Paul Ainsworth at No.6, is a shining star of the town’s food scene. Padstow Townhouse is the realisation of a dream for husband and wife, Emma and Paul Ainsworth, to offer diners somewhere to stay. True to their impeccable standards at No. 6, Padstow Townhouse is a stylish, high-end, and luxuriously cosy boutique bolthole.

Eternally popular, Padstow can be almost claustrophobically busy in the high season, making an escape from the crowds a true treat. Padstow Townhouse places all of Padstow’s delights on your doorstep, with a tranquil, indulgent room to retire to when in need of a break from the incredible range of cafes, restaurants, shops and bars. All of this, delivered with an incredible service-centred approach, with staff who really go the extra mile to make a stay here memorable.

Recently awarded five AA gold stars for accommodation, each room in the hotel has an individual style. The rooms take their inspiration from traditional British sweets – Rhubarb & Custard, Popcorn, Marshmallow, Bon Bon, Toffee Apple and Honeycomb. Whilst the names  might be playful, the attention to detail is serious and the suites are super stylish.

Every suite is kitted out with its own 40” curved television complete with Apple TV, as well superfast internet. Toiletries are by Bloom Remedies, their exclusive Serenity Slumber products created especially for the hotel.

Children aged four and over are welcome, in fold-away beds that fit comfortably within the suites. Two of the suites are also dog-friendly.

A beautiful breakfast hamper is served to the room each morning. The Townhouse also offers an all-day room service option, as well as a picnic hamper service. On arrival, guests receive tasty in-room treats in the form of local delicacies, and as part of the turndown service, a flask of steaming hot chocolate is delivered in the evening. Guests can take advantage of the innovative Kitchen Pantry, a fully stocked kitchen offering indulgent treats, savoury snacks and light bites, alongside wines and spirits, all available via an honesty box system.

Guests have the opportunity to dine at the Michelin Starred Paul Ainsworth at No.6 restaurant, at Caffè Rojano for a bistro-vibe in the middle of Padstow, and at The Mariners Public House in Rock.
