Bursting with boujie boutique appeal, Artist Residence delivers the group’s signature eccentric charm to the historic seaside town of Penzance. The revitalized Georgian property is perfectly situated for local beaches, trips to the Isles of Scilly and the pubs, Penzance’s thriving food and drink scene and its unique art deco lido. 

As with the other Artist Residence properties, artwork is a big focus of their Penzance offering and has been hand-picked from an eclectic mix of up and coming artists and galleries. Notable artwork includes prints by Dave Buonaguidi, David Spiller, Peter Blake and Tracy Emin to name but a few, as well as bespoke neon signage by Brighton artist, Andy Doig.

The whole vibe of the hotel is a perfect complement to a market town that has remained something of a hidden gem. Penzance buzzes with culture and history and makes a perfect base for exploring this enchanting part of West Cornwall.  

Sleeping

16 individually decorated bedrooms and three luxe suites – The Chapel Suite, Sail Loft with
sea views to both Marazion & Mousehole and The Lookout, plus a three-bedroom cottage with a private entrance. 

dining

The Clubhouse is a warren of snug nooks, with log burner, comfy sofas and armchairs and a relaxed, rustic feel. The Banquet Room is a private dining space, with reclaimed wood cladding, vintage mirrors and bespoke neon lobster by Andy Doig, opening out onto a small terrace garden.

Outside there is also a spacious decked garden with retractable covering and the
Seafood Shack & Bar which serves a casual menu of Newlyn lobster rolls, chicken wings,
chargrilled steaks and more, alongside frozen margaritas, sharing cocktails, Camel Valley
bubbles and Cornish beer & cider.

Cornish produce is cooked using traditional techniques, charred and smoked for a rich and
distinctive flavour and served in hearty and wholesome dishes – local favourites include the
beer-can smoked chicken, prawn tacos with tomato, chilli, spring onion, herb yoghurt and
whole charred seabass with lemon, dill & caper butter.
